The Evil of Millaat Sharif
The greatest sin after Kufr and Shirk is Innovation in Islam. Innovation is an act done in the name of religion which is not prescribed in Shariat, i.e. It has no sanction of the holy Qur'an or the Hadis and did not exist in the days of the holy prophet s.a.w. or his companions (Radhialahu anhum) or the period immediately after them.
Innovation is an evil practice the holy prophet s.a.w. has condemned all innovations in religion and has called an innovator an enemy of Islam. He has also said that every Innovation is a deviation from the right path and leads to Hell.
The holy prophet s.a.w. Said 'whoever introduces in Islam a good measure will have a reward for it and also a reward for those who act upon it without reducing any thing from this reward. Likewise one who introduces an evil practice in Islam will be punished for this and all those who act upon that evil practice will be punished without diminishing in any way the burden or their evil deeds'.

One of the Innovation that is mostly practised in many mosques around the world today is Milaad Sharif.
Allah Ta'ala says in the Qur'an,
' This is my path so follow not other ways lest ye be parted from his way '.
(Al Qur'an 6:153)
The messenger s.a.w. warned against the people of innovation, from be friending, supporting or taking from them, saying, whoever innovates accommodates an innovator then upon them is the curse of Allah, his Angels and the whole of mankind.

Imam Shafi said, 'that a person meets Allah with every sin except Shirk is better than meeting him upon any one of the innovated beliefs'. (Al Bayhaqee)
The Prophet s.a.w. said, 'those of you who live long after me will see a great deal of differences, So hold fast to my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the rightly guided Khalifs after me'.
(Bukhari)
Ibn Umar said, 'Every innovation is misguidance, even if the people see it as something good'.

Ibrahim ibn Maysarah (d.132h) said 'Whoever honours a innovator has aided in the destruction of Islam'.

At the time of the prophet s.a.w. there was no such act or even today there is no such Hadis of the prophet s.a.w. .If it was allowed then the prophet s.a.w. surely would have told us because the prophet s.a.w. told us every thing from the earth to the Arsh of Allah and from his day's to the day of Judgement and beyond. We think that Milaat Sharif is a part of Islam but it is not a part of Islam people made it up also Shaytan puts such things in their mind so they go of the right path and take others of the right path.
Allah Ta'ala says in the holy Qur'an
'And Shaytan will say when the matter has been decided 'verily Allah promised you a promise of truth. And I too promised you, but I betrayed you. I had no authority over you except that I called you, so you responded to me. So blame me not, but blame your selves. I cannot help you, nor can you help me. I deny your former act in associating me as a partner with Allah (by obeying me in the life of the world) verily, there is a painful torment for the Zalimun.'

I am not saying that Darood Sharif is Bidaat but I am trying to say that Milaat Sharif is Bidaat and was invented. Just because our forefathers did it that is why we do it. My brothers and sisters the Sahabas the companions of the prophet of Allah s.a.w. they could have followed their forefathers ( who were Idol worshipers ) but no they decided to follow the right way, the commandments of Allah and the Sunnah of the prophet s.a.w. Once a Sahaba was offered some food, he replied this looks nice but I have never seen the prophet s.a.w. eat it so I am not going to eat it. That is how much they followed the Prophet s.a.w. and today look how far we have gone.
They don't even practice it in Haram Sharif, where the house of Allah is the holy Kaaba. My brothers we only see the people of the Indian - Subcontinent practising this evil act but all around the world there is no such thing as Milaad Sharif because the scholars of Islam have not found it in Hadis or the Sharia nor the book of Allah the holy Qur'an. Many Scholars today say that Milaat Sharif is a biddah Hasanah (a good Innovation in Islam) however Allah Ta'ala say's in the holy Qur'an
' This day I have perfected your religion for you, completed my favour upon you and I have chosen Islam as your religion'
(Al Qur'an 5.3)
So that which was not part of the religion at that time cannot be part of the religion today and the last part of this Ummah cannot be rectified except by that which rectified it's first part. So to accept Milaat Sharif, or any other newly invented act of worship, Implies that Allah Ta'ala did not complete and perfect the religion for his Ummah, and that the messenger of Allah s.a.w. did not completely convey to this Ummah what was necessary regarding their duties. Until the advent of those who came later and innovated in the religion of Allah and they completed Islam.
My dear brothers and sisters Islam is the right religion and came to us with tremendous sacrifice so we do not want to go against the commandments of Allah and the holy prophet s.a.w. If a person does then he is a Kafir and there is an immense punishment for him in the life hereafter.
My dear brothers and sisters think twice the next time you do Milaat Sharif. Ask the Scholars that practice Milaat Sharif the reward for it, they won't be able to answer the question. They'll probably class it as Darood Sharif but we have never read the Sahabas doing Darood Sharif in such a way. If you look in Hadis there is reward for Salaat, Zikr, Jihaad e.t.c. but where is Milaat Sharif ?.
